Arrived Safely

After a long 36 hour journey, we have all finally arrived safely in the land downunder. We flew from Toronto to Los Angeles, where we had a 12 hour layover, then another 14.5 hour flight from Los Angeles to Sydney.

When's the food coming?

Here we are boarding in Toronto. The boys are so excited to be on a plane and can't wait to get into the air.

Time to get my shorts and t-shirts out!
After a long 12 hours in LA, we all boarding the last, but longest leg of the journey. By this time we were all exhausted and couldn't wait to settle into our seats for the overnight flight to Australia. 4 or 5 movies, 2 meals, and a little nap, we finally arrived.

As we made our way off the plane and through customs, the door opened in the arrival area of Sydney airport. Staring back at us was a smiling Uncle Chris, Colin and Jane. We all split into two cars and made our way to Colin and Jane's house for the first night in Sydney. They live in south east end of Sydney in a place called Lugarno which runs along the George's river. The kids were so excited to see their pool and quickly changed into their swim suits. We spent the first afternoon recovering from jet lag swimming in the pool, kayaking on the George's River, and feeding the wildlife (Kookaburra Birds) Here's a link  to learn  more about this bird http://www.birdsinbackyards.net/species/Dacelo-novaeguineae

Kids also loved seeing Uncle Chris's hot road mini bike (plated and street legal).
